Route checkout currencies to payment gateways
Choose exactly which connected gateway handles each storefront currency.
Use the Currency × gateway matrix when your connected payment providers do not all accept the same currencies, or when you want deliberate routing such as USD to PayPal and NGN to Bachs.
- Open Dashboard > Payments.
- Connect and enable the payment gateways you want to use first.
- In Checkout routing, use the Checkout column to choose which currencies buyers may select.
- For each currency row, check the gateway columns that are allowed to handle that currency.
- A crossed-out cell means Trakroom knows that gateway cannot collect that currency through the current integration.
- A gateway can support more currencies in general than your own merchant account can receive. Leave any currency your provider has not enabled for YOUR account unchecked.
- Every checkout currency must have at least one live routed gateway before the matrix can be saved. This prevents buyers from selecting a currency and then finding no usable payment method.
- Save checkout routing and test each important currency from the storefront cart.
Examples:
- Route USD, GBP, and EUR to PayPal while routing NGN to Paystack or Bachs.
- If your Paystack account has only NGN enabled, check NGN only even if Trakroom shows other Paystack-capable currencies.
- If your Flutterwave account is enabled for several currencies, check only the currencies you actually want Flutterwave to receive.
At storefront checkout, Trakroom filters the payment-method selector to the buyer's selected currency and the routes you saved. The currency shown in the cart is the currency sent to the selected gateway; Trakroom does not intentionally show one currency and silently charge another.
